Balaji Telefilms has zoomed 10% to Rs 38.75 on the back of huge volumes and reports that the company's latest release 'The Dirty Picture' saw a strong opening at the box office.
Directed by Milan Luthria, the film released all over India today. Vidya Balan is playing the lead role in the movie, which also stars veteran Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashm and Tushaar Kapoor in key roles.
‘The Dirty Picture’ is said to be based on the rise and fall of 1980s southern actress Vijayalakshmi, who was popularly known as Silk Smitha.
The stock has gained six straight days in a row, rallying 34% from Rs 29.45 on November 24 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The counter has reported huge volumes, with a combined 2.5 million shares changing hands so far against an average sub-300,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks on the NSE and BSE.
