Cardamom prices up on firm spot demand, tight supply

Cardamom prices rose by Rs 10 per kg at the wholesale kirana market today on rising demand in view of marriage season against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

Traders said rising domestic demand in view of ongoing marriage season amid restricted arrivals mainly led to rise in wholesale cardamom prices.

Firming trend in producing regions also supported the uptrend, they said. Cardamom small chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra bold varieties were up by Rs 10 each to Rs 1,030-1,120, Rs 1,145-1160, Rs 1,165-1,180 and Rs 1,235-1,260 per kg, respectively.
