Low stocks following restricted arrivals supported the trade

Cardamom prices rose by Rs 11.10 to Rs 763.50 per kg in futures trade today, largely on the back of pick-up in demand in the spot market amid low stocks following restricted arrivals from producing regions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract surged Rs 11.10, or 1.47%, to Rs 763.50 per kg in 756 lots.

The July contract rose by Rs 9.60, or 1.24%, to Rs 786.30 per kg in 70 lots.

Traders said a firming trend at the spot markets on the back of pick-up in demand attributed the rise in cardamom prices in the futures market.
