Equities gained across the board on Monday as investors poured money into cement and steel stocks on early signs of an economic recovery and hopes of strong quarterly earnings. Recording its third straight gain, the BSE sensitive index (Sensex) settled with a gain of 44.10 points at 3,288.71, off from its intraday low of 3,293.21. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the S&P CNX Nifty gained 11.15 points to close at 1,068.95. Gainers outpaced losers nearly three to one on higher volumes.
