Consumer product companies appeared to be going with the tide rather than against it in morning trade today on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The FMCG Index was down 0.07% over the previous day's close at 12.45 pm today on BSE indicating that investor sentiment remained weak.
While companies such as ITC, Nestle, Tata Global Beverages and Jubilant Foodworks were up, a few other such as Hindustan Unilever, Godrej Consumer, Dabur and Colgate-Palmolive were down.
The benchmark BSE Sensex was down 0.44% during morning trade, hovering below the 19,000-mark at 18, 712.
Besides FMCG, indices such as healthcare, auto, IT and Bankex were also down.
