Edible oils futures up on fresh buying

Edible oils futures prices rose up to Rs 350 per quintal in wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on fresh buying by vanaspati millers and retailers amid firming global trend.

However, mustard oil futures prices declined on lack of buying support against fresh arrivals.

Sentiments turned better after palm oil futures gained in global markets as the three day decline spurred buyers to take advantage of cheaper prices of the edible oil and crude oil traded higher.

Meanwhile, palm oil futures for delivery in June went up by 0.9 per cent to $1,084 per metric tonne on the Malaysian Derivatives Exchange.

In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils increased by Rs 350 and Rs 70 to Rs 6,150 and Rs 5,800, respectively. Crude palm oil (ex-kandla) gained Rs 90 to Rs 5,200 per quintal.

Palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils moved up by Rs 50 and Rs 40 to Rs 5,750 and Rs 5,450 per quintal, respectively. Groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) also went up by Rs 150 to Rs 8,000 per quintal and groundnut solvent refined edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 1,350-1,360 per tin.

On the other hand, mustard expeller oil (Dadri) declined by Rs 100 to Rs 5,450 per quintal.

soybean Refined mill delivery (Indore) 6,150, Soyabean degum (Kandla) 5,800, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-kandla) 5,200, Cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) 5,550, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,750 Palmolein (Kandla) 5,450, Rice bran (phy) 3,750 and Coconut (per tin) 1,600-1,660

Non-edible oils: Linseed 4,650, Mahuwa 4,000, Castor 8,600-8,700, Neem 4,050-4,150, Rice bran 3,300-3,400 and palm fatty 3,225-3,300

Oilcakes: groundnut dehusk 800-850, sesame 950-1,150, Mustard (new) 1,000-1,025, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed 1,075-1,175
