Education shares rally on heavy volumes

Shares of companies engaged in delivering education on information technology platform are in limelight on the bourses. Everonn Education, Educomp Solutions, MT Educare, NIIT and Aptech have rallied up to 18% on the back of huge volumes.

Everonn Education has surged 18% to Rs 110 in early noon deals on back of over five-fold jump in trading volumes. The stock opened at Rs 94 on NSE and seen a combined 2.2 million shares changing hands on the counter on both the exchanges.

Educomp Solutions has rallied 7% to Rs 134 on NSE. As many as a combined 1.15 million shares have already changed hands so far against an average less than 0.60 million shares that were traded daily in past to weeks.

On January 24, the New Delhi-based Educomp Solutions said Kaizen Private Equity and global publisher Bertelsmann had agreed to invest Rs 22 crore in the company's online business.

The funds will be used for growth capital and further upscaling the usage of the website, it added.

NIIT, Aptech and MT Educare are few other stocks in the education space trading higher in the range of 4-6% on the BSE.
