Export Of 50, 000 Tonne Coarse Grains Okayed

In order to reduce the increasing stock, the Centre has given the clearance for export of 50,000 tonne coarse grains in 2001-02. While 20,000 tonne has been given to government organisations such as the State Trading Corporation (STC) and the Spices Trading Corporation Ltd (STCL), the remaining quantity has been allotted to the Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Authority (Apeda) for private exporters.
