F&O Update: Nifty 4,300, 4,200 puts see sharp rise in OI

The Nifty September futures ended with a 12 points premium at 4,361 as against the spot Nifty which closed with a marginal loss of 11 points at 4,349. Around 5.20 lakh contracts changed hands at the counter, and the open interest (OI) increased by 15.67 lakh shares to 3.16 crore shares.

CALL ACTION

The Nifty September 4,400 call wass the most active call, and the counter clocked trades of around 92,700 contracts. The open interest increased by 7.85 lakh shares to 25.15 lakh shares.

The Nifty 4,300 and 4,500 calls witnessed trades of around 72,100 and 51,850, contracts, respectively. The 4,300 call open interest shot up by nearly nine lakh shares to 22.67 lakh shares, and the 4,500 call open interest increased by nearly eight lakh shares to nearly 21 lakh shares.

The Nifty 4,600 call recorded trades of around 32,400 contracs, and the open interest moved up by 4.57 lakh shares to 15.75 lakh shares.

PUT ACTION

The Nifty September 4,300 and 4,200 puts were the most active counters with trades of around 85,400 and 68,100, contracts, respectively. The 4,300 put open interest increased by 18.43 lakh shares to over 37.13 lakh shares, and 4,200 put open interest rose by nearly 10 lakh shares to almost 40 lakh shares.

The Nifty 4,200 and 4,100 puts saw trades of around 28,200 and 25,800, contracts, respectively. The 4,200 put open interest increased by 4.23 lakh shares to 30.67 lakh shares, and the 4,100 put open interest moved up by almost 3.50 lakh shares to over 16 lakh shares.

The Nifty 4,400 put witnessed trades of around 14,900 contracts, and the open interest increased by 2.85 lakh shares to 11.92 lakh shares.
