The Gail India scrip rose 3.64 per cent to Rs 202.25 on the announcement that Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (FFC) has signed an MoU with it for cooperation in natural gas sector-related opportunities.
Under the agreement, both the companies would jointly evaluate the potential of setting up a gas-based power plant and explore the possibility of sourcing of natural gas/LNG for identified projects in segments like chemicals, fertilisers, CNG & PNG. The stock made an intra-day high of Rs 204.45 and a low of Rs 196 with trading volumes of 4.2 lakh shares.
