Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services has surged over 5% to Rs 27.40 after reporting over two-fold increase in the net profit at Rs 13 crore for the third quarter ended December 2012 (Q3) as against Rs 4.3 crore during the same quarter of the previous year.
“The consolidated income increased by 15% to Rs 67.75 crore from Rs 58.78 crore,” Geojit said in a statement.
For the first time, the company’s assets under custody and management crossed Rs 14,000 crore mark during the quarter, it added.
“Improvement in the market conditions and efficient cost management helped the company to report better results for the quarter,” said C J George, Managing Director, Geojit BNP Paribas.
The stock opened at Rs 27.35 and hit a 52-week high of Rs 29.80 on NSE. A combined around 500,000 shares have changed hands on the counter in opening deals on both the exchanges.
