Gold prices rebounded by Rs 295 to Rs 18,015 per 10 grams on the bullion market today on buying by stockists, taking cues from global markets, where rates for the metal recovered sharply.
Gold, which had lost Rs 380 per 10 grams in the previous session, recovered slightly on improved demand in overseas markets, where it was being traded above $1,200.
Gold in global markets, which normally set the price trend on the domestic front, rose by $7.10 an ounce to 1,209.80.
Standard gold and ornaments prices rose by Rs 295 each to Rs 18,015 and Rs 17,865 per 10 grams, respectively. Sovereigns also gained Rs 75 to Rs 14,250 per piece of eight grams.
In line with the general trend, silver ready rose by Rs 200 to Rs 28,800 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 100 to Rs 28,445 per kg. Prices for silver coins also improved by Rs 100 to Rs 34,100 for buying and Rs 34,200 for selling of 100 pieces.
