HDFC gains 4.3%; NTPC dips 2%

The NSE Nifty is up 41 points at 4,293.

Reliance has advanced 4.4% to Rs 2,228. HDFC is up 4.3% to Rs 2,262.  Wipro has gained 3.4% to Rs 472. Ambuja Cements has surged 2.9% to Rs 85.

Cipla is up 2.4% to Rs 212. Satyam has gained 2.1% to Rs 454. ITC, Jaiprakash Associates, L&T and Infosys are the other gainers.

Hindalco has lost 2.2% to Rs 144. DLF and NTPC have dipped 2% to Rs 442 and Rs 152, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has dropped 1.9% to Rs 755. Ranbaxy is down 1.3% to Rs 530.

TCS, HUL, RCom, ICICI Bank, Grasim, Maruti, M&M and Tata Motors have lost less than one per cent.
