The stock touched a high of Rs 636. It finally ended up Rs 78 (14%) at Rs 607.

Hindustan Zinc has surged following news of exploration and surge in reserves.
The stock opened at Rs 541, up Rs 12. Thereafter it slipped to a low of Rs 536. But the stock gained strength after the announcement and surged to Rs 585, up over 10% from the previous close.
The stock is now up 7% at Rs 565. A total of 47,245 shares have been traded on the BSE so far.
According to a release to the BSE today, the reserves and resources of the company have increased by 20% to 272 million tonnes from 226 million tonnes.
