Indices surge on inflation data, likely political thaw

The Bombay Stock Exchange's BSE Sensex closed the day at 13,454 points, up 2.75 per cent or nearly 360 points. The National Stock Exchange's Nifty-50 closed at 4,016 points, rising by 2.3 per cent or 90.25 points.
