Infosys gains as US unit wins IT project

The company also announced an average increase of 8% for employees based in India.

Infosys has moved higher by over 1% at Rs 2,404 after the company said its US subsidiary Infosys Public Services has won a contract from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) has selected Infosys Public Services, a US-based subsidiary of Infosys, to support CareFirst's IT operations and provide application development and other support services as part of a new managed services contract, Infosys said in a statement.

Infosys Public Services will support CareFirst's IT area to help create a cost-effective delivery model. Through its agreement with Infosys Public Services, CareFirst aims to reduce costs and achieve efficiencies in application support during the three-year contract term, it added.

Meanwhile, in another regulatory filing, the company announced salary increments for all eligible employees, across the company, for fiscal year 2014. The company announced an average increase of 8% for employees based in India.

The stock opened at Rs 2,392 and touched high of Rs 2,409 on NSE. A combined 358,304 shares have changed hands on the counter till noon deals.
