Background: This open-end tech fund invests in IT firms which are directly or indirectly engaged in the technology business. Birla IT fund, formerly Apple Platinum, carries an entry load of 1.75 per cent and no exit load. The fund is one of the few to look for opportunities in small and mid-cap stocks. Within two months of its launch in December 1999, this fund dished out a 25 per cent dividend to investors.
