Dull trades consituted the morning session; the Sensex and Nifty displayed barely any movement, and the Sensex was down 5 points at 20,034, while the Nifty was down 2 points at 5,996.
Sensex gainers were Wipro at Rs 495, Reliance Communications at Rs 139, both up 2%, and Cipla at Rs 373 up 1%.
Tata Motors at Rs 1,290 and ICICI BAnk at Rs 1,118 were the highest losers both down 1%, and Hero Honda was at Rs 1,926 down 0.5%.
A majority of the sectoral indices were in the green, with the Metal index leading the pack at 17,153 up 1%, followed by the Healthcare index up 0.3% at 6,641 and Realty at 2,749, also up 0.3%.
The Auto index was at the lowest end of the chart, down 0.4% at 9,972.
The broader indices were also trading flat, with the Mid-cap index at 7,612 down 3 points, and the Small-cap at 9,395 up 21 points.
