Markets at day's low

Markets have extended losses and is at the day's low. The Sensex has lost 140 points to 19,801 on selling in realty and banking stocks.

The Sensex, after opening in the positive had touched a high of 19,998. However, it slipped to the day's low of 19,790.

Nifty is down 51 points at 5,940.

BSE mid and small-cap indices have outperformed. The mid-cap index is down 0.5% at 8,003. Small-cap index is flat at 10,146.

Among the sectoral indices, realty has dropped 2% at 3,592. Bankex and oil & gas indices have shed over 1% each at 13,766 and 10,585, respectively.

Bharti Airtel is the top loser among Sensex stocks today, followed by index heavyweights - ICICI Bank and Reliance. Stocks are down over 1.5% each.

Reliance Communications and Cipla have dropped 1% each. DLF, Reliance Infrastructure, Maruti Suzuki and BHEL are also down in red.

However, ONGC has held on to gains and is now up 2% at Rs 1,426. Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindustan Unilever are marginally in green.
