The Sensex has ended at 16,415, up 189 points and the Nifty shut at 4,910, up 55 points (provisonal closing).

The Sensex has extended gains and is now at 16,451, up 251 points. The NSE Nifty is at 4,921, up 66 points.
Among the sectoral indices, metal index continues to lead, up 3.5% at 16,471.
Tata Steel has soared 6% to Rs 584 and Hindalco has advanced 153, respectively.
Sterlite, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro and Jaiprakash Associates have added 2-3% each.
The other prominent gainers include Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Power, Maruti, SBI, Tata Motors, Hindustan Unilever and HDFC, up over 1.5% each.
DLF is the only major loser on the BSE, down 1% at Rs 307. Wipro and Infosys are down 0.5% each.
The market breadth is positive, out of 2,869 shares traded, 1,727 have advanced and 1,046 have declined so far on the BSE.
