Markets flat in late-noon trades

Markets continue to trade on a flat note. The Sensex after touching a high of 18,005 slipped again into red. The index is now up 12 points at 17,967.

Nifty is flat at 5,395.

BSE PSU index has gained 0.6% to 9,445. However, the realty, FMCG and auto indices are down in noon trades.

NTPC has surged 2.5% to Rs 203. Reliance Communications has gained 2% at Rs 191.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindalco have added 1% each to Rs 612 and Rs 152, respectively.

HDFC and Larsen & Toubro are up 1% each.

Meanwhile, DLF has dropped 1.5% to Rs 315. Sterlite has slipped 1.3% to Rs 164.

Hero Honda and Jaiprakash Associates have declined over 1% each to Rs 1,956 and Rs 129, respectively.

ITC, TCS, Maruti Suzuki and Reliance Infrastructure are the other losers in the index today.
