Markets off day's low

The markets have moved into the green. The Sensex is up 46 points at 20,734 while the Nifty added 13 points at 6,247.

After touching a high of 20,854,the markets has pared its initial gains. The Sensex is down five pointa at 20,682 while the Nifty is flat at 6,232. The broader markets, too has slipped. The smallcap index is at 0.3% while the midcap is stable at 0.4%. In comparison, the benchmark index is underperforming at 0.2%

Among the sectoral indices, IT and Tech, up 1% each continues to laed the pack closely followed by Consumer Durables, Metal and Auto.  However, Capital Goods, FMCG and Realty has slipped into the negative.

The gainers in the Sensex-30 stocks are Tata Steel, Infosys up nearly 2%, Wipro, Tata Motors,Jindal Steel gaining 1% and TCS, Sterlite adding 0.5% each.

The losers are L&T down nearly 2% followed by Reliance Communications, BHEL shedding 1% followed by ONGC, Cipla, HDFC Bank shedding 0.4% each.

The market breadth is positive. 1301 stock  have advanced while 1248 have declined.
