Markets slip into red

The Sensex has slipped once again to fall below yesterday's closing of 19,502 and is currently trading 74 points down at 19,427 while the Nifty shed 29 points at 5,831.In the broader markets, the midcap index had fallen sharply down 0.6% as compared to the smallcap index and benchmark index at 0.1% each.

Among the sectoral indices on the BSE, Realty has rebounded to lead the chart at 1.7% followed by Bankex, FMCG and Capital Goods.All the other indices are in the red.The biggest losers are Metal, Teck and IT down nearly 2%.

The gainers on the Sensex are DLF up 2.5%,HDFC gaining nearly 2%,Maruti Suzuki,SBI adding1% followed by L&T, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank moving up 1.6% each.

On the losers side are Infosys, Sterlite, Bharti Airtel,Reliance Communications down 2% ecah followed by JP Associates, TCS,Hindalco shedding 1.8% each.

The market breadth is negaive. Of the total 3075 stocks traded, 1952 have declined while 1026 have advanced.
