Markets steady; Maruti up 7%, Tata Power down 3%

The Sensex is now up 330 points at 15,291.

The NSE Nifty is up 73 points at 4,576.

Maruti and HDFC Bank have zoomed 7% each to Rs 657 and Rs 1,269, respectively. ICICI Bank has soared 6% to Rs 735.

BHEL has surged 5% to Rs 1,859. Tata Motors has rallied 4.7% to Rs 428, and ACC has gained 4% at Rs 641.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 3.6% to Rs 2,797. Mahindra & Mahindra, Jaiprakash Associates and Bharti Airtel have advanced around 3% each to Rs 565, Rs 191 and Rs 864, respectively.

Reliance has advanced 2.7% to Rs 2,338. Satyam and Grasim have added 2.5% each to Rs 410 and Rs 2,068, respectively.

ONGC, DLF, Sterlite and TCS are up over 2% each at Rs 1,024, Rs 565, Rs 594 and Rs 848, respectively.

Tata Power has plunged 3% to Rs 1,068.

Out of 2,548 stocks traded so far, 1,664 have advanced, 792 have declined and 92 are unchanged.
