Medium sugar eases on good supply
Medium sugar prices eased at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to higher stock positions, coupled with good supplies from mills.
Meanwhile, small sugar displayed a mixed pattern of trading owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) softened by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 2,890/2,970 from last weekend's closing levels of Rs 2,895/2,970. However, small sugar quality (S-30) was quoted at Rs 2,860/2,900 per quintal against Rs 2,850/2,910 last week.
The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with previous rates in brackets.
Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,860/2,900 (Rs 2,850/2,910) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,890/2,970 (Rs 2895/2970).
