 "Mentha oil falls by 0.5% on subdued demand")
Mentha oil prices were down 0.48% to Rs 940.80 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed positions owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December declined by Rs 4.50, or 0.48%, to Rs 940.80 per kg in a business turnover of 30 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 4, or 0.43%, to Rs 928.80 per kg in 218 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market against ample stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
