Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 8.20 or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 769 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators booked profits, influenced by falling demand in spot market.
Adequate stocks positions, followed by increased arrivals in the local market influenced the mentha prices at futures trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for August-month fell by Rs 8.20, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 769 per kg, with an open interest of 4,168 lots.
The oil for delivery in September-month also moved down by Rs 8.10, or 1.03 per cent, to Rs 781.50 per kg, with an open interest of 4,660 lots.
Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators at existing higher levels, due to fall in demand in spot markets mainly led to a fall in mentha oil prices at futures trading here.
