Mentha oil prices slipped by Rs 6.50 to Rs 1,144.60 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in profit booking amid weakening trend at the spot market.
Increased arrivals in the spot market from the producing regions also put pressure on the mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for February delivery fell by Rs 6.50, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 1,144.60 per kg, with a business turnover of three lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in March contract traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,152.60 per kg, with an open interest of a single lot.
Market analysts said besides profit booking by speculators and subdued demand in the spot market also weighed on the mentha oil futures prices.
