Metal ends mixed in sluggish trade
Brass, copper sheets cutting and zinc prices edged higher at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to higher industrial demand, coupled with rising trend in the London Metal Exchange.
Meanwhile, select copper prices declined owing to reduced offtake from consumer industries.
Brass utensils scrap rose by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 270 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 267.
Brass sheets cutting and copper sheets cutting both moved up by Rs 2 per kilo each to Rs 275 and Rs 377, as against Rs 273 and Rs 375 respectively.
Zinc inched up by a rupee per kilo to Rs 131. However, copper utensils scrap fell by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 360 from Rs 363 yesterday.
Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar eased by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 395 and Rs 423 respectively.
