State-owned trading trading firm MMTC has invited bids for the sale of 1,650 tonne of pulses.
The last date for submission of bids is July 19 and a decision on awarding the contract will be taken on the same day, the company said in a notice on its website.
The company is putting on sale 1,000 tonne of lemon toor and 650 tonne of green moong, which is lying at godowns in Chennai.
Both the pulses are of the crop year 2010 and have been sourced from Myanmar, MMTC said.
Bids have been called for a minimum quantity of 250 tonne and there is no restriction on the maximum quantity, it added.
PEC, MMTC and other state-run trading agencies like STC import different varieties of pulses on behalf of the government to augment domestic supply.
