Nickel futures prices today moved up by 0.22% to Rs 852.80 a kg as speculators created fresh positions taking cues from a firming trend in spot markets and foreign trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel prices for delivery in September gained Rs 1.90, or 0.22%, to Rs 852.80 a kg in business turnover of 827 lots.

The metal prices for delivery in October rose by Rs 1.40, or 0.16%, to Rs 862.60 a kg in 116 lots.

Analysts said increased domestic demand from alloy-makers at spot markets and metal's gain at the London Metal Exchange influenced nickel prices at futures trade.
