Pistachio fall on sluggish demand

Pistachio prices drifted down in the range of Rs 40-75 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of sluggish demand from retailers and stockists.

Adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from overseas markets also put pressure on pistachio prices. Pistachio (Irani, hairati and peshawari) eased up to Rs 75 to settle at Rs 780-820, Rs 1,200-1,250 and Rs 1,350-1,380 per kg respectively.

Traders said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against fresh arrivals, mainly pulled down pistachio prices on the wholesale dry fruit market here.
