Potato futures rose for the third day today, gaining Rs 3.60 to trade at Rs 766.10 a quintal, on rising demand in spot markets, driven by ongoing marriage season.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in April gained Rs 3.60, or 0.47%, to Rs 766.10 per quintal in business turnover of 36 lots.

The March contract edged higher by Rs 1.90, or 0.24% to Rs 780 per quintal in 287 lots.

Analysts said rising demand in the spot market supported by ongoing marriage season amid restricted arrivals from producing region mainly influenced potato futures.
