The special court investigating the 1992 securities scam has cracked down on as many as 11 major stock brokers by attaching their movable and immovable properties. Seven of these brokers are based in Mumbai and the rest in Kolkata.
The Mumbai-based brokers whose properties have been attached include Jaideep Jagdish Pathak, GN Hedge, Kishore Narottamdas Amerchand, Fairgrowth Investments Ltd, Harish K Dalal, Pravin Kantilal Vakil and Dhyan Investments & Trading Co.
The Kolkata brokers appearing in the list are stock exchange heavyweights Shyam Sunder Dalmia, Ajay Kayan, Gaurishankar Kayan and Rahul & Co. Shyam Sunder Dalmia is reputedly one of the biggest badla financiers of the country.
