Provisional: Markets end near day's lows

Investors booked profits ahead of Christmas holiday tomorrow and Dec F&O expiry on Thursday

Benchmark share indices ended near their day's lows, amid a range bound trading session, as investors booked profits in late trades unwilling to carry over positions ahead of the Christmas holiday tomorrow followed by expiry of December derivative contracts on Thursday.

The 30-share Sensex ended down 71 points at 21,030 after touching an intra-day low of 21,010 and the 50-share Nifty ended down 17 points at 6,268 after hitting an intra-day low of 6,262.
