Rakesh Jhunjhunwala buys 10 million shares in Edelweiss Financial

He purchased shares at a price of Rs 55 a piece on the BSE through block deal, which was worth Rs 55 crore.

High-net worth investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has bought 10 million equity shares representing 1.3% of total paid-up equity capital of Mumbai-based Edelweiss Financial Services.

On Thursday, June 12, 2014, he purchased shares at a price of Rs 55 a piece on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) through block deal, which was worth Rs 55 crore.

However, GPC Mauritius I LLC sold 11.82 million shares of Edelweiss Financial Services at Rs 56.35 on the BSE and GPC Mauritius III LLC sold 14.44 million shares at Rs 56.34 on the BSE.

The name of the other buyers was not ascertained. The stock closed at Rs 59.95 on Thursday, up 10% from previous close on the BSE.
