The NSE Nifty has gained 29 points at 4,220.
BHEL has gained 3.6% to Rs 1,440. Ranbaxy has advanced 3% to Rs 541. Bharti has moved up 2.8% to Rs 771, and HUL has gained 2.7% to Rs 220. TCS is up 2.6% to Rs 865. Maruti, ONGC, Reliance, Tata steel, NTPC, Ambuja, L&T, M&M, Hindalco and ACC are the other gainers.
HDFC has plunged 4.5% to Rs 2,136. Infosys has tumbled 3.8% to Rs 1,696.
Tata Motors has shed 3.3% at Rs 481. ITC has slipped 3.2% to Rs 184. Grasim and Wipro have dropped 2.5% to Rs 2,007 and Rs 452, respectively.
Satyam, ICICI Bank, Jaiprakash Associates, DLF, Cipla, SBI, HDFC Bank, Reliance Infra structure and L&T are the other losers.
