The Coffee Board will soon institute a quality certificate rating system for roasted and ground brands in the market. The system is expected to tickle consumer interest in coffee.
 
Lakshmi Venkatachalam, chairperson, Coffee Board addressing Karnataka Planters' Association members said the modules for the rating system is being worked out in consultation with domestic roasters.
 
She said that the board's work over the last few years paved way for increased coffee consumption. Now is the time for growers to launch fresh and innovative products to widen consumption. This will expand the overall supply and lift the sector's fortunes, she added.
