Corporate leader Reliance Industries rose by over 1% in early trade on the bourses ahead of the company's annual shareholder's meet here today.
Shares of RIL rose by 1.39% to touch an early high of Rs 965.10 on the BSE, while on the NSE, they went up by 1.39% to touch a high of Rs 964.35.
The stock gained 0.6% in the previous trading session on the BSE.
Growth in RIL's counter was significant in helping the broader gauge Sensex make comeback after last session's fall, with the bellwether index jumping by 134.84 points to trade at 18,629.02 at 1001 hours.
Market men said that RIL's counter is witnessing some action as investors are hoping for some major announcement by the company.
