Sebi May Lift Circuit Filter On 53 Stocks

The Securities & Exchange Board of India is planning to remove the temporary circuit filters imposed on 53 stocks in the aftermath of terrorist attacks in the US on September 11.

The Sebi thinking follows its assessment that the volatility in the stock markets is under control. Recently, the broking community had also made informal demands for the removal of the 10 per cent circuit filters.
