Sebi restricts banks from currency segments

The Securities and Exchange Board of India has put restrictions on banks in taking positions in the currency derivatives segment. It said gross open positions of banks across all contracts (both futures and options contracts) should not exceed 15 per cent of the total open interest or $100 million, whichever was lower.
