Select sugar millgate prices eases on selling pressure

Select sugar mill gate prices softened by Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital today on ample supply from mills amid reduced offtake. Marketmen said selling pressure from mills, against lower offtake by stockists and bulk consumers, mainly pulled down the prices.

They said reduced buying by softdrink and ice cream makers followed by changes in weather after heavy rains influenced the trading sentiment.

In millgate section, sugar Thanabhavan and Budhana lost by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,640 and Rs 2,630 per quintal, respectively.

Mawana and Dorala also eased by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,680 and Rs 2,660 per quintal.
