Sensex down 144pts; ICICI, Tata Steel slip 2%
The Sensex is now down 144 points at 14,421.
ICICI Bank, Tata Steel and Ranbaxy have shed 2.3% each at Rs 656, Rs 587 and Rs 506, respectively.
Maruti has tumbled 2% to Rs 637. SBI, NTPC and Tata Motors have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 1,378, Rs 172, Rs 432, respectively.
BHEL, HDFC, Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 1,676, Rs 2,302, Rs 823 and Rs 2,547, respectively.
HDFC Bank and ITC are down around 1.5% each at Rs 1,259 and Rs 186, respectively.
Satyam and Wipro have advanced 1% each to Rs 424 and Rs 437, respectively.
Reliance and Hindalco are the other prominent gainers.
