The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 185 points at 9,462. The index touched a low of 9,460, and and recovered partially to touch a high of 9,547. The index is now down 155 points at 9,492.
Reliance Infrastructure and DLF have slumped around 3.5% each to Rs 543 and Rs 148, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro and Jaiprakash Associates have plunged nearly 3% each to Rs 678 and Rs 73, respectively.
Tata Steel has shed 2.6% at Rs 192. ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 418, Rs 925, Rs 136 and Rs 277, respectively.
Sun Pharma, Tata Power and Reliance have slipped around 2% each to Rs 1,095, Rs 778 and Rs 1,375, respectively.
ACC, Sterlite and TCS are down 1.7% each at Rs 534, Rs 273 and Rs 515, respectively.
