Sensex down 270pts; all index stocks in red

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 275 points at 9,371, and soon slipped to a low of 9,282. The index is now down 270 points at 9,375.

Tata Motors and Jairprakash Accosiates have slumped nearly 5% each to Rs 153 and Rs 79, respectively.

DLF has plunged 4.7% to Rs 245. Wipro has shed 4.5% at Rs 239.

Sterlite and Tata Steel have slipped 4.3% each to Rs 282 and Rs 209, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Communications have slipped 4% each to Rs 390, Rs 275 and Rs 230, respectively.

All index stocks are down over 1% each.
