The Sensex continues to languish in the negative territory and is now down 403 points at 8,371.
HDFC has slumped 7% to Rs 1,271. DLF, HDFC Bank, Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Power have plunged nearly 7% each to Rs 209, Rs 827, Rs 425 and Rs 632, respectively.
ICICI Bank has dropped 6.5% to Rs 325. Reliance Communications has tumbled over 6% to Rs 186.
Jaiprakash Associates, Bharti Airtel and Wipro have slipped around 5.5% each to Rs 60, Rs 579 and Rs 211, respectively.
Maruti and Grasim have declined over 5% each to Rs 490 and Rs 884, respectively.
Reliance and Sterlite are down nearly 5% each to Rs 1,078 and Rs 207, respectively.
All index stocks are in negative zone.
The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,127 stocks traded so far, 1,691 have declined, 370 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
