Sensex down nearly 200pts; DLF drops 4%

The Sensex opened 99 points lower at 8,944, and is now down 180 points at 8,862.

DLF has slumped 3.7% to Rs 151. Reliance Communications and ICICI Bank have plunged 3.3% each to Rs 157 and Rs 350, respectively.

Wipro has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 214. HDFC Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have shed 2.5% each at Rs 862 and Rs 67, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has slipped over 2% to Rs 497.
