The NSE Nifty is down points 48 at 5,088.
Infosys has plunged 3% to Rs 1,788. Satyam Computers has slumped 2.7% at Rs 476, and Jaiprakash Associates has shed 2.6% at Rs 268.
DLF has dropped 2.3% to Rs 636. HDFC Bank and Reliance Energy has tumbled 2% each to Rs 1,512 and 1,408, respectively.
TCS, Tata Motors and have declined over 1.7% to Rs 949, Rs 668 and Rs 491, respectively.

ITC, Larsen & Toubro and Hindalco are down 1.3% each to Rs 224, Rs 2,948 and Rs 178, respectively.
Bharti Airtel has gained 1.6% at Rs 829.
