Sensex ends flat at 17,931

The Sensex has ended (provisional) at 17,931 - up one point. Nifty has ended (provisional) at 5,386  - down seven points.

Markets have continued to remain subdued and trade near the dotted line.

The Sensex, after touching a high of 18,005, is now up nine points at 17,965. The Nifty is up two points at 5,397.

Reliance Communications has gained 2.5% at Rs 192. NTPC has jumped 2.3% to Rs 203.

HDFC and Hindalco have added 1.6% each to Rs 3,071 and Rs 153, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel and Wipro are the other big gainers.

On the other hand, ITC has dropped 1.5% to Rs 294. DLF has continued trading soft and is now down 1.2% at Rs 316.

Hero Honda, Maruti Suzuki and Sterlite have dropped around 1% each. Jaiprakash Associates has slipped 1% to Rs 129.
