Sensex ends up 153pts at 8,313

The Sensex opened 115 points higher at 8,275 after its two-days holidays. The index displayed steady movement through the day and touched a high of 8,440.

The Sensex pared gains towards the close and finally (provisional) ended with a gain of 153 points at 8,313.
